General Information
Full name: Suzume Klinger Nickname: Sue, Suzy, Suzu, Metal Queen Age: 18 Gender: Female Race: Latent Candeoan (Note: Suzu's parents were carriers of the gene, but Suzu herself had never shown any powers until she was 10. She is unable to use her power by herself and as such channels it through The Steel Princess)
Faction: Beowulf Birthplace: Augsburg, Germany Occupation: Frontal Assault Officer of the 13th Combat Operations Unit
Appearance

The Steel Princess
Height: 4'5” (Steel Princess: 7'0”) Weight: 90 lbs. (Steel Princess: 300 pounds) Eye color: Dull Amber (Steel Princess: Red) Hair color and style: White-blue, short cut (Steel Princess: Dark blue bob cut) Identifying marks: Pale skin, Numerous tattoos, bunny-design headphones CONSTANTLY RIDING ON A COFFIN Clothing: Suzu wouldn't look that out of place in most of Kenvector. She'd fit in with the punks raving downtown, the geeks playing games uptown and the gangs taking over the middle. However the one place she doesn't fit in, is her own place of employment. She's always dressed so casual and in such a way that she constantly sticks out whenever she arrives at work. Even as a member of the 13th unit, a unit known for oddballs, she simply does not seem to visually belong. Suzu is usually seen wearing the exact same outfit everywhere: An open shoulder top that looks almost like an elongated tube top that would reach down halfway past her hips if she pulled it down all the way; a pair of denim short-shorts with a multitude of chains hanging off them; on her legs are black thigh-highs with a belt clasped around her left leg, with the outfit completed by a pair of blue heeled shoes. She also has two very powerful earphones strapped to her head with devilish bunny designs on the sides. Any normal person would only be able to handle these earphones at 1/100th of their maximum power.
Suzu also rides around on a truly massive and indestructible coffin. It trumps most coffins, being approximately 10 feet in length, two feet across, and three feet high. It's a plain black design, and the normal cross emblem on most coffins is replaced with the insignia of the 13th unit, and replicated on both sides. It's almost adorable to watch someone as short as Suzu attempt to crawl on and off the massive thing, but she manages to do so without aggravating her condition. The coffin also seems to eerily float just an inch or two off the ground, and can very quickly float along at the speed of a scooter if need be. It's an extremely heavy coffin, and weighs exactly one ton on it's own, weighing almost 1.5 tons when both Suzu and the Steel Princess are inside. Those who look closer will realize that the coffin has no lock, or handle with which to open it. This is because it actually utilizes a sliding door on both sides of the coffin that can open, drop Suzu inside, and close in under a half second.
Looking inside the two sides of the coffin itself reveals two completely different worlds. Suzu's side of the coffin is padded with white fabric and extremely comfy to the touch, with various computer screens and hidden compartments across the entirety of her side. It's spacious enough for Suzu herself to even sleep inside comfortably, which she does often. She has food and random trinkets such as games and manga stored inside the coffin's compartments (and the coffin itself is integrated with every game system on the market) but most importantly she keeps her medications and emergency medical supplies inside these coffins. You will find a multitude of medications for damn near every symptom in the book, and a multiple of syringes, suppositories, and even an oxygen mask and dialysis system. With a press of a button Suzu can also change the pressure and purity of the air in her coffin, and even fills the air itself with aromatic medications if need be. In essence, she has a miniature hospital inside her side of the coffin and if ever she needs to take care of herself she simply climbs inside and waits until her symptoms pass by. Why exactly Suzu needs all this is a story best left for later.
On the other side of the coffin is a portable garage. Inside this sleeps Suzu's ultimate creation: Gravitational Dominance and Threat Suppression Droid Type-07, or as she calls it, the GDTSD-07 Steel Princess. The coffin itself has multiple power ports and data interfaces that dock into the Princess's back, which passively recharge her and perform software diagnostics. This side also has separate compartments holding the Steel Princess's weapons which will fire out for her to catch when authorized by Suzu. The Steel Princess (or “Prinny”, as Suzu nicknamed her) is a very tall-looking android with a female design and a very human face, however the doll-like joints prevent Prinny from being confused for a real person. Prinny is technically mostly naked at all times as her blue skin (save her white arm which contains her Gravitas device) is actually just the blue armor used to help protect her inner components. She is of a slim build and seems to wear “clothing” themed after both birds and butterflies with a metal skirt with feather-like blades on the ends and a battle-mask to protect her face themed after a butterfly. Said battle-mask can be flipped up and down whenever Prinny feels like revealing her face.
Powers
Type of Power: The ability to mentally interface with machines. Utilizing her Kenificus tech, Suzu can interface with a machine utilizing her mind rather than physically typing away at a keyboard. She can also use this to break into machines and hack through firewalls and other electronic defenses making her useful for gathering intelligence when Orochi groups attempt to utilize the internet and other networks to plan attacks. However she mostly uses this to control and order machines, especially her personal creation Prinny who will always dutifully respond to her commands. This power also provides Suzu with a metaphysical link that allows her to power Prinny and use Prinny as a proxy for her Gravitas power. This way, Suzu will not have to physically be in the area in order to utilize Gravitas, as Prinny will simply siphon power from her personal battery to do so. When power is siphoned from the battery, the battery is recharged at the same time via this link so that Prinny does not run out of power immediately.
Manifestation: This power manifests as a single, visible blue pulse that will emanate from Suzu when she activates it. It has a half-mile in radius which basically means that anything within the half-mile radius can be controlled mentally by Suzu. This includes Prinny, who can only remain operational so long as she remains within this radius of Suzu.
Source: Suzu's side of the coffin is integrated with this ability, and does this via stimulating her brain through electromagnetic waves to tune to the proper electromagnetic wavelength usable by machines, and then broadcasts Suzu's mental wavelength as far as it can. Suzu has trained her mind to produce the proper electronic impulses to command machines as she desires, but can assist her control via using peripherals such as keyboards, touch screens, and even game systems.
Type of Power: Manipulation of Gravitational Forces, Gravitas
Manifestation: Small dots wherever the Gravitas is being used. These dots are actually microscopic black holes that do not contain enough power to rip apart those that touch it, but do have the power to subvert gravity and pull objects towards it. Along with this, whosoever is physically touching the black hole will not feel the effects of Earth's gravity and the black hole will be the new direction upon which gravity will act on them. This power can be used in a myriad of ways, such as pulling things apart, attracting objects together, and do things such as float and walk on walls. The Gravitas device can also be overloaded to produce a cannon-like blast via producing a slightly larger black hole that sucks objects in, but is then fired and detonates, throwing all the objects and an absurd amount of force outwards. This particular use of the power causes such a drain on Prinny's batteries that it nullifies all use of the Gravitas for approximately 30 seconds (2 posts) while they recharge.
Source: Prinny's right arm contains the Gravitas device that channels Suzu's latent Gravitas ability.
Personal
Personality:
Suzu is actually rather typical for a girl her age. She's depressed, sarcastic, cynical, doesn't believe in a single thing and judges everyone based on first looks. She may seem like a spoiled teenager, but that's mostly due to her casual attitude and her tendency to pay more attention to her games than to pay attention to another person. Suzu is also tired and lazy most of the time, owing to her irregular sleep schedule which causes most people to mistakenly believe that the darkness of her eyelids and bags under her eyes are actually just make-up. When Suzu wants to sleep, she just completely ignores anyone and everyone and will just climb into her coffin unless the matter in hand is actually important (which usually means her paycheck is at stake). When not sleeping or doing work for her division, Suzu is usually found in all parts of Kenvector, usually playing games while she rides along on her floating coffin like it's some kind of grim scooter. She has a habit of passively watching things. She'll go to the park, but she'll just sit on a bench with her coffin taking up a space and play games, occasionally looking up at the scenery around her before going back. If she's seen in one of the raves downtown, she never joins in and dances or drinks. She will simply be there for the music and usually moves to a semi-private lounge for herself and her coffin, usually ignoring any interaction from people. Funnily enough, it's only when the rave music is at it's ear-deafeningly loudest that she'll take her earphones off because the music will finally be at “an acceptable level”. At work, or in any relatively quiet place such as a high-class bar Suzu is the loudest person in the room without saying a word. This is because she shuffles around so much and her music is turned up so deafeningly loud that it's like having a car radio on at all times around her. She also can't actually hear anyone with her headphones on, she's just become so sensitive that she can feel the breaths of air coming onto her whenever someone begins talking to her.
If you can get Suzu to talk to you by getting past her usual excuses of “Sorry the music's too loud”, “I'm actually a transsexual so beat it”, “If you don't go away I'm screaming molestation”, and “I'm not legal so don't even try”, of which only one of them is an excuse that involves any amount of truth, she's almost sociable. Ignoring the fact that she will usually ignore looking at you to focus on whatever she's playing, if you want an interesting conversation then Suzu is ready to give you one. The only thing that separates Suzu from the average teenage girl is that Suzu is extremely easy to read in terms of sheer emotions if she's not playing a game. She's got a great poker face, but if she's sitting next to someone and having a conversation, she will easily let it show when she gets angry, happy, or sad. She also almost never minces words and will bluntly say what's on her mind and what she thinks of something. If you tell her your heart-breaking childhood story and she thinks that it sounds retarded, she has no problem telling you it sounds retarded. If you ask her for an opinion on a politically charged issue she'll render a decisive decision and justify it with “Just cause” and a shrug. No one exactly knows if Suzu changes that much around friends and such, but it seems that she expresses exactly how she feels about you through actions rather than words. She tends to do things for people she considers friends to make their lives easier, though so far no one knows what she'd do for people better than friends.
However underneath the decidedly rough exterior Suzu has, she is a rather sad little girl. Suzu knows she's extremely sick, and does nothing to ignore the fact. She isn't like most other adorable sick girls you see who attempt to enjoy life for what it is and somehow become more peaceful, serene people for it. Suzu does not want to simply accept the life given to her and wants to one day recover from her multitude of illnesses to become a normal girl, yet it seems that such a thing is hopeless for someone like her. Since the death of her parents via Orochi terrorism which also gave her the sickness she still carries, Suzu lost all notions of hope and faith and instead became a cold, hard realist and sees the world as one giant cesspool of filth that really needs to be cleaned up. Suzu's condition itself grates on her psyche as it prevents her from really being a normal person and ostracizes herself from society due to the limitations it puts on her. If Suzu overexerts her body in nearly any way, she will experience related pain and fatigue, and it will cause internal damage to her body. If her heart beats even a little too fast, she could have a heart attack. If she breathes too hard and deeply, she'll begin to cough up blood and have trouble breathing due to her severely damaged lungs. She has constant headaches and migraines, only serving to further her annoyance at everything, and is generally sensitive to every damn thing in the world. Thankfully she has no allergies so she'll never have a deadly allergic reaction to anything, but her body is still extremely weak making something like a common cold debilitating. Physically she has no strength in her body and her bones are even a bit brittle and break easily. Suzu's nickname amongst her coworkers has become “China Doll of the 13th” due to her extremely fragile physical state. Suzu must also take regular medication for her symptoms, and even go on a type of dialysis inside her coffin once a day because her blood is naturally poisonous due to the chemicals she was exposed to. Suzu takes her blood samples to the doctor's once a week every week so that they can possibly find out what is causing her blood to constantly become flooded with poison.
Suzu is usually able to deal with most of these illnesses, but she is not immune to the sadness and jealously that comes with watching other people do what she can't. She usually wants to look away and avoid the situation when she watches someone dance, or jump around and play, or just act plain reckless with their physical being, but occasionally she idly watches them just to remind herself of what it's like to really move around and play. Despite seeming lazy, Suzu also takes great care of her health as best she can and always stays up to date on medications and doctor's appointments, also making sure she eats properly so that her body can help properly sustain itself. On the rare occasion that Suzu indulges, she will only drink a glass or two of alcohol, but will readily wolf down fast food and other unhealthy foods to treat herself when she's been good for a month. At all other times, the most alcoholic thing Suzu drinks is wine which contains nearly no alcohol anyway and eats organic food, shying away from steaks and other meats unless she needs it. She has a slight complex about her appearance however, despite the fact that she's the perfect weight for her height and has an exceptionally curvy body that is kept the way it is by the light exercise Suzu is still able to do. She is most concerned about her stomach, as it is a slight bit soft due to the sedentary lifestyle she's forced to live, and gets flustered if anyone pokes at it because it jiggles just slightly.
The last thing Suzu seems to feel the most is hatred. She has a rather well-directed hatred at the Orochi gangs plaguing Kenvector, as they are directly responsible for who she is today. She has absolutely no empathy or pity for those who ally themselves to the Orochi gangs and would gladly slaughter them all. This has also caused her to become racist against Candeoans because she believes that they all may fear their own powers at first, but eventually believe themselves to be superior to normal humans and feel like they can abuse others using their gifts. Though she knows that a Candeoan or two actually work with the Beowulves she would still treat them rudely and tell them that they only joined because they realized just how idiotic the Orochi gangs are. She doesn't actually consider herself a Candeoan as her power is rather useless to herself despite it secretly being the reason she isn't dead yet.
History:
Medical science has come far compared to what it used to be. Heart attacks are at an all-time low, cancer is nearly cured completely and miracles are made every day as the paralysed walk and limbs are regrown when lost. So long as you do not die instantly, as long as you can get to the hospital alive you have a very good chance of surviving your ordeal. Most hospitals deal in either normal, clinical studies or have vast emergency departments to handle the injuries incurred by both the Beowulf forces and Orochi gangs. Long-term care is simply a rarity now, simply because there are nearly little to no people that require any amount of healthcare beyond three weeks to two months.
Suzu is one of these rarities.
Suzu was born a rather healthy little girl at first in Augsburg, Germany to inter-racial parents: One japanese and another german. Her father was an engineer, and her mother a Candeoan biologist who studied the nature of Candeoan powers. Together the two would craft Kenificus Tech on contract to the Beowulf forces of Kenificus Vector, where they moved to once Suzu was around five years old. Suzu herself had shown a particular gift for robotics and technology, talking much more eloquently than other kids her age and being particularly talented at playing video games and solving puzzles. Suzu also had a recessive Candeoan gene but she never showed any powers and so she lived as a normal child. It was at eight years old Suzu created her first robot who she named Pen-Pen, a small penguin-like toy bot who would dance and make snarky comments. Her parents were soon invited onto a new project to see if they could use science to make Candeoan energy usable as a power source in robots. Due to the top-secret nature of this project, the Klingers had to move to Kenvector when Suzu was about 5 and so she began school and was raised in the city. The schools of Kenvector were very nice to her, as they could accommodate her advanced intellect unlike the schools of Augsburg and actually allowed her to continue designing robots as it was her favourite activity. A bright future was set out for Suzu. She was put on the track for advanced courses and could have gained her PhD in robotics at the age of 14 at the rate she was burning through classes.
Unfortunately, Suzu never got that chance. You see, on January 14th eight years ago when she was 10 she was invited as part of a field trip for gifted children to the same facility her parents worked at. She knew about the Candle farms, but since she was a child, even when presented with the conditions of the Candeoans she accepted it all as a necessary process to produce Kenificus technology. She met with her parents and was shown the coffin she owns now, the project she would help her parents with when Suzu finished her studies. However that day, there was a massive terrorist attack by both the Candeoans inside the facility and an Orochi cell outside. It was done via two twin Candeoans with the exact same power, one who was inside the facility and one on the outside. The point of the entire attack was to annihilate every single person except one Candeoan, one of the killers themselves, in order to scare the government into closing down all facilities or to at least destroy most of their work. This was accomplished via the twins unleashing a deadly gas using their powers and cycling it throughout the entire facility. It was a horrifying compound that would infect the very organs of anyone and cause their own body to pump poison throughout their own body to the point where they were so filled with poison that their corpses would exude the poison as well requiring gas masks when handling the bodies.
Every single person in the facility, barring Suzu, died in that gas attack. She survived only because during the initial jailbreak where the Candeoans escaped from their cells, her parents shoved her into her coffin and activated the life support system to buy her time. Her parents died soon after once the poison gas flooded the room, but Suzu remained safe for a small time once the prototype coffin gave her clean air to breath. However the coffin was still a prototype, and was imperfect. Unlike the current coffin which has an advanced purifier that takes air in from the surroundings at all times, this coffin had a static oxygen tank that lasted only for a few hours before it was forced to take air in from the outside. As time passed, the poison gas slowly crept into Suzu's air supply and soon rendered her unconscious whilst slowly killing her. However her latent power allowed her some extra time as the poison made their way into her major organs, causing them to become infected but incompletely. Her Candeoan gene produced a small gravitational field that kept the rest of the poison molecules from reaching her entire organ and thus allows her to survive to this day.
Within a day, Suzu was found unconscious inside her coffin with blood dripping out of the corner of her mouth due to the poison attack and was quickly taken to the hospital. The doctors tried to the best of their ability to cure her, but since the poison was of a Candeoan nature it was much too complex to develop a cure for. She woke up and was notified of the death of her parents, which Suzu did not exactly take well but she was too weak to really scream and throw stuff at the staff. Instead she internalized her pain and it warped her into who she is today. Her life took a turn for the worse, as she spent an entire year just recovering enough to function as a human being, and then another year in full rehabilitation. At 12, she was finally released from the hospital but to a very nasty world that gave her no second chances. School required money to go to, and even more so for her advanced classes and so Suzu was forced to drop out. Social Services only paid for the base necessities of life and Suzu didn't want to go to a foster home so she used loopholes in the laws and lived alone and miserable in her home, tormented by the quiet caused by her lack of parents.
Suzu needed money. She had a computer, a sharp mind, and an internet connection. So she dipped into the underground and did some hacking work for businesses, breaking into private databases and giving away information to the highest bidder. She'd gain good money for the work and it helped fund her past-times: Video games and robots. She began to build again, first small droids that did basic tasks, and built bigger robots which built even bigger robots until she finally built her ultimate servant: The Steel Princess. At first Prinny began as just an advanced servant for Suzu, almost a surrogate mother or a big sister with the way she acted. Then Suzu found some very sensitive information. She broke into an Orochi information network and found out about the two Candeoans that were responsible for crippling her and killing her parents. This predictably enraged her and at the age of 14 she gave this info to the Beowulves and asked to join them. She couldn't do any physical training but using her technical expertise she knew she could be of great use. So she was put into the research wings of the organization and helped hack into further Orochi networks, while also helping do upkeep on some of the more advanced mecha. Over time she used her perks to procure weapons and more advanced systems, eventually discovering that the Beowulves had recovered her parents' prototype coffin and research but had been unable to complete it. Suzu was able to do this and gave the completed research to the Beowulves, creating her perfected coffin and the Gravitas device that channels her own latent powers through Prinny as a personal addition to the research. This was around the time she was 16.
Suzu then asked to be part of combat operations, to test her parents' research in a live environment but also to personally enact her vendetta on the Orochi gangs. She was refused at first, but eventually proved after two more years that despite her ornery personality, she was exceptionally dangerous when using Prinny and could easily qualify as a one-woman shock troop. As such, she was then placed into the 13th unit as it desperately needed men after a massacre of the unit and the unit's reputation for being made up of eccentric types.
