General Information
Full name: Hagane Asagami Nickname: Spectre; The Farm Raider Age: 23 Gender: Male Race: Candeoan Faction: Orochi Birthplace: Kenificus Vector Occupation: Keneficus Technology Inventor; Candle Factory Raider
Appearance
Image: Hagane
Height: 5’10” Weight: 154 lbs Eye color: gray (Black with purple and blue pupils when Linear Vector is active) Linear Vector Active Hair color and style: Black and cut short while spiked in various directions Identifying marks: Eyes when active, otherwise none to keep his identity secret. Clothing:
- Normal: Usually wears a set of khaki cargo pants a white shirt and a black windbreaker with no hood. At work he simply wears a lab coat instead on the windbreaker along with safety goggles.
- While raiding: A black cloak wrapped around his neck as well as a black dress shirt and black cargo pants along with black gloves. He also wears a black faceless reaper mask that allows him to see out of the mask while completely covering his hair and face, masking his identity. In addition, he wraps bandages around his lower face covering his nose and mouth as well as a voice changer, and also keeps his telekinesis at least slightly active at all times in order to force his eyes to change appearance in case his mask is ever ripped adding a second layer of security to his identity.
Powers
Type of Power: Clairvoyance Manifestation: An ability that Hagane was naturally born with that allows Hagane to “see” everything around him in a 40 feet radius making him seem clairvoyant at times. The ability works by sending out invisible waves of the energy Candeoans produce to create a radar-like effect in a 40 feet radius from Hagane at a rate of 60 waves per second. The energy waves first move outward to 40 feet and “map out” any matter that they come into contact with, before returning to Hagane and giving him the information. Thus leaving Hagane with a 3-Dimensional “radar map” of all matter within its detection radius along with the energy used in the wave to begin with, resulting in no loss of energy. Unfortunately, because it simply maps out matter, Hagane is only able to “see” detailed shapes and forms and is unable to see any sort of color. Also, Hagane is unable to discern a difference between things of particularly similar density (like the difference of oxygen from poison gas), and is unable to read out anything printed or such due to the minute distance the ink rises above the page. However, since Hagane’s ability has no energy loss he is able to use it subconsciously and in fact generally has it on at all times out of habit and to help increase his range with it having already mastered how rapidly he could send out waves and reading the entire map instantly earlier in life. Type of Power: Linear Vector Manifestation: Linear Vector is a power Hagane received via an improper implant done by an underground geneticist who usually does jobs for Orochi members using his sister Fujino’s gene. Thanks to this imperfect procedure, Hagane has gained the ability to instead control vectors in a linear fashion as opposed to Fujino’s ability to manipulate spin vectors. Hagane is able to perform a single action upon any number of vectors as he sees fit, but only a single action. As such he cannot reduce a vector to zero, then give it a positive vector upwards immediately, he must wait a few moments. Unlike his sister’s ability to “twist” matter around an axis via her abilities however, Hagane can only move things in linear paths and lacks the same amount of raw power that Fujino possesses. Like his sister though, while active Hagane's eyes change color to become black with blue and purple pupils. This is due to many rapid changes that happen within the eye, including variations in melanin that gives eyes their color in order to adjust the eyes to be able to see the vectors Hagane creates. Ironically, being able to see the vectors is somewhat useless to Hagane, as by mapping out things using Clairvoyance the point is rendered null. His control over the ability he received thanks to practice and studying physics is excellent, being able to keep track of 50 vectors independently in tandem with his clairvoyance ability without losing control. Thanks to his natural clairvoyance, he is also able to effectively use his power in areas he can’t directly see with his eyes, making him a powerful Candeoan. In terms of raw power his power is strong enough that he can muster up to a total of 2 tons of force with his ability, but he’s mostly practiced control and coordination rather than force. Also, due to his focus on precision and control, the effective range that Hagane can apply vectors to is only about 30 feet for the time being, though that may change with more training and experience. Personal
Personality: In most situations, Hagane acts kind and light-hearted about various things. For the most part he remains calm and even-tempered, but he tends to keep things held inside so that his troubles build up. He is naturally kind to people and more than anyone he cares for his sister Fujino. In fact his protectiveness for Fujino has become so bad that everyone who knows him well thinks that he has a little sister complex. For the most part Hagane will take things in stride and tries not to take things too seriously. However, if anything rubs him particularly badly he will often become cold. His temper, when it actually snaps is quite severe and tends to come out in a rush. Hagane is also somewhat interested in music and as such he has been focusing on learning to play the violin as of late.
During battle, Hagane becomes much more focused and serious and tends to work alone. He favors hit and run tactics, utilizing his powers to increase the power and accuracy of his guns to attack his enemies from afar while also using to slash at anyone who gets close or speeding up the throwing speed of them. One of his favored uses of his power is to use well-calculated vectors to launch kunai or his guns into his hands without having to draw them himself, or firing them from their positions on his body without touching them. He will also moves any solid objects around him to act like shields if he feels the need to, resulting in a strong combination as he moves, but not well suited for a prolonged confrontation with soldiers. Also, because all he wants is to free the Candeoans kept at the Candle Farms, Hagane won’t actively seek to kill his opponents. While he accepts it when his opponents die, he feels that always using such a level of violence or power is unnecessary. He also avoids using Linear Vector directly on people as if he applies too much force on the wrong part of the body on the fly it may be even easier to kill a person than when using his guns.
History: Hagane was born as the oldest child of the Asagami family, a family of Candeoans who in the distant past had been full of Candeoans with various mental based powers which before the discovery of DNA, labeled them as psychics and mystics. However, in the past couple centuries , the powers they received began to degenerate in potency, eventually becoming so weak that members of the clan gave up on keeping their bloodline strong with Candeoan blood due to the incredibly weak powers that their genetics gave them. The last Candeoan in the family was in fact Hagane’s great great-grandfather and the Asagami Candeoan bloodline was thought lost when he married a normal human being. So far removed from being Candeoans as they were, Hagane’s father Asagami Takaito thought the gene bred out of them due to the fact that not a single Candeoan had appeared in the past 3 generations. Eventually, Hagane’s father fell in love with a member of the Asagami branch clan, Asakami Miyuki a very distant relative and whose clan had not had an active Candeoan in 4 generations.
Despite all odds however, it turns out that the Asagami psychic abilities gene had not in fact disappeared, but instead had remained a recessive gene leaving Hagane’s ancestors as carriers, yet never birthing anyone with a complete set to create a Candeoan. However, despite only having a 25% chance of becoming a Candeoan, Hagane beat all odds and did in fact get a new set of Candeoan genes. Unlike the later Asagami Candeoans, Hagane was born with immense psychic power the likes of which hadn’t been seen for centuries within the clan. His power however, was very subtle; a form of clairvoyance was active from a very early age, and as he was unable to understand it at first nor use it consciously he didn’t realize he even had some strange ability till he was in he started going to school at age 5 and realized that other children couldn’t “see” stuff all around them without looking. By this point however, Hagane had become so used to the flashes of all around sight that it became as natural a sense to him as any of the 5 basic senses of human beings. Upon telling his father however, Takaito tried to make Hagane start taking medicine to suppress the ability as he wanted nothing to do with the Candeoans anymore as he had been so sure the clan’s past for which they were prejudiced was behind them. However, shortly after beginning to take the medication, Hagane began showing signs of mental disturbance and began breaking down, feeling blind and isolated without his clairvoyance, and quickly falling into depression and paranoia with the loss of the ability. After this short period in which it became apparent that taking the power away might be dangerous for Hagane, his father never tried again.
Shortly after this period however, Miyuki gave birth to Hagane’s little sister, Asagami Fujino. Hagane quickly came to love his sister, and tended to pay particularly close care to and dote on her. Years went by, and Hagane began to get better and better control with his power while maintaining a mostly normal life having kept his power mostly secret at the request of his father. When Hagane was 9 however, it was found that despite the low chance, Fujino had in fact ended up with the matched Candeoan genes as well resulting in her being a Candeoan. Unlike Hagane’s however, Fujino’s appeared to be very overt and had a lot of destructive potential as could be shown by how she discovered her power when the 4 year old girl accidentally used her power twist rend the washing machine she had been staring at into a warped and shredded mess. It turned out that Fujino had a powerful ability that allowed her to apply and manipulate spin vectors. Basically it allowed her to focus on points to centralize her power and then “twist” them and the space around them so that the power twisted and distorted matter around the point she focused on, easily capable of shredding apart steel with little effort on her part so long as it was in her visual range.
When Hagane found out Fujino had gotten a seemingly psychic type power of her own, he offered to help her learn to control it. However, his father would have none of it, and immediately put Fujino on the medication he wanted to use on Hagane seeing how sealing her power wasn’t detrimental to her mental state or health like it was for Hagane. Though disappointed and a tad angry that his father had done this, Hagane nonetheless grudgingly accepted his father’s decision as Fujino’s power was fairly dangerous and continued training his own ability, but still growing ever closer to Fujino as the years went on.
When it came time for Hagane to go graduate from High School when he was 18, Hagane decided he wanted to get a job at Keneficus Technology and as such went to a Candeoan research college that was funded by Keneficus anyways. While there, Hagane’s power inevitably was exposed to a wide majority of people as it would be near impossible to get through a college dedicated to Candeoan research without being found out. While it did earn him some discrimination among peers, for the most part people just accepted this and life moved on. He studied hard and, thanks to being able to use his own Candeoan gene for study he rapidly progressed in his studies.
Unfortunately, it was during this time that news about the candle factories was leaked, and Hagane was given a rude awakening. The knowledge about the factories left Hagane torn. He thought that Keneficus technology was a good thing, however the idea of people being farmed in order to mass produce the genes and not taking voluntary samples made him sick. Still, Hagane knew that he wouldn’t be able to do a single thing with the power he had. As such, after a lot of internal debate, Hagane decided to do something he found questionable.
One night while his parents were out and he was visiting home, Hagane spoke to Fujino in private about his plan to help Candeoans by breaking people out at the Candle Farms. Fujino was surprised by this and while worried about her brother’s safety was glad he wanted to help people. Still, her worry for him overwhelmed her admiration and she asked how he hoped to accomplish this without joining one of the existing Orochi groups, whom Hagane seemed to dislike. After all, his power was quite limited in battle use, and he could hardly hope to raid the farms alone like that, it was at this point that Hagane admitted he needed Fujino’s help. Despite his own hesitation, he asked Fujino if she would be willing to implant her power into him so that he could use it as a raider.
Fujino was surprised by this request, but after an explanation from Hagane she soon came to understand just how formidable a combination his powers would be combined with her own. After a couple hours of him going into his plans with more detail, Fujino agreed. A few weeks later, Hagane invited to have his sister stay with him at his apartment for a weekend as a cover to his parents for the fact that Fujino and Hagane would go to see an illegal Candeoan Gene extractor and implanter whom generally did jobs for the Orochi groups so long as the price was right. He didn’t ask names, he didn’t want to see faces, and he destroyed all samples in front of his customers once he was done. A perfect person to employ for those who didn’t want it known they were illegally messing with Candeoan genes. During the visit, not only did Hagane get Fujino’s gene implanted into himself, but as a counter payment to his sister, Hagane allowed his gene to be implanted in Fujino, whom wanted to be able to use a Candeoan power even though her own had seemingly been sealed away by the medication she was forced to take. After the implantation process was finished, Fujino found the implanted Clairvoyance ability to be working just fine. Hagane however, found that somehow during the process something went wrong, and instead of gaining Fujino’s spin vector ability, Hagane received his linear vector ability.
Hagane returned to his normal life after this, graduating a year later from the college after studying relentlessly in physics and keneficus technology and ending up as a Keneficus Technology inventor after graduation. During the two years after getting the ability he trained heavily in using it, all while working on improving his physical condition to go beyond that of an average person. In the past 2 months he has begun his farm raids, attacking Candle Farms and freeing those who have been forced to provide genes for Keneficus Technology using an elaborate costume and the alias of “Spectre”. His efforts have earned him a street nickname as “The Farm Raider” and he doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon. For now the only person who knows about his Spectre alias is Fujino, and that isn’t likely to change as he doesn’t wish to be brought into any of the main Orochi groups.
