What will become of it is up to you, the people who inhabit it, so step forth and grasp the future you desire with your own hands.

GENERAL RULES

1. Proboards terms of service. Follow them. Live them. Eat them. You violate them, and we'll find a way to violate YOU.

2. Respect. Respect your fellow roleplayers and respect the admins and mods that run the site. If you disagree with the actions of anyone, please discuss it in a calm and constructive manner before going to a higher power for a final decision. In the case of an admin, all decisions are final unless another admin plus a mod overrules them.

3. One character per account. Due to the Fame system being used here you must make a new account for each new character you make. Your display name on the account must also be your character's name.

4. There is a requirement to making new characters. You get one free character to make on the Beowulf side and one free character to make on the Orochi side. To make a new Beowulf or Orochi character you require at least 30 Fame on the appropriate side before making a new one. In the case of neutral characters with no allegiances, you can use Fame from either side. To make another new character, you must accumulate 30 more Fame with the matching side. Fame can be earned by posting. Fame is not subtracted when you make a new character.

5. To make a neutral character you require at least ONE character allied to either the Beowulves or the Orochi with at least 30 fame. After that, you may make more neutrals utilizing Fame on your neutral character.

6. Mature content. Although we aren't a board stuck in kindergarten, we don't have a free-for-all on mature content. Characters can have sex, yes, but you can only imply that they did and you may not roleplay any sexual acts. In terms of violence, pretty much anything can happen but do avoid overly-gorey and purposefully gross detail akin to something like Gears of War.

IN CHARACTER RULES

1. Oh sweet baby raptor Jesus on a carrot stick DO NOT GOD-MOD. For those unaware, god-modding is the act of controlling other people's characters and overall attempting to control something that is not explicitly your own character. You are also god-modding if you explicitly write your character's actions in a manner to suggest that your opponent has no other options than to do what you want with statements such as "I threw the knife, knowing that there was no way to dodge" or "He took aim, squeezing a bullet out and smiling as he watched it sail through his head". If you god-mod and assure us that it was an accident that won't be repeated then we will only ask you to edit your post. If you repeat this however, we won't have any problem penalizing you.

2. Do not powerplay either. Powerplaying is similar to god-modding in that rather than making things happen to other people without their consent, you force things to happen to yourself the way you desire them to and disregard the situation at hand. No character can dodge every blow, or get out of absolutely any situation completely unscathed. This also means you cannot make your character a Mary-Sue or Marty-Stu, and make them absolutely perfect in every way possible without flaw. For example, if your character is facing off against another in a drinking contest, you are power-gaming if you simply continue to say that you will never become drunk even though there is no mention of your drinking tolerance in your history. Not to say that if you choose not to put that in that you are automatically a lightweight for example, but you should not be able to out drink someone if they have it plainly stated in their history that they have an extremely high tolerance for alcohol. You are also powerplaying if you assume your character is the best without leaving room for someone to be better with statements such as "He can outdrink any person without fail". It would be better to say "As far as he knows, he can hold his alcohol better than anyone he's met" or "He's the best martial artist in the world so far". This leaves logical room for someone else to be just as good as you, if not better. If you sorely desire to let others know you are the best at something, do not simply write that you are: You must best them in a fair contest without powerplaying.

3. In any thread that is not an event or a straight up battle thread, you may not kill others without consent. In the case of a battle thread, the result of who dies and who does not is decided by a staff judge. In an event thread, you may be killed at any time, but usually you will only die if you do something horrendously stupid and suicidal. An example would be jumping into the mouth of a dragon, hoping to get a stab at it's tongue. At all other times we will not find any real reason to kill you, but should you die and you feel the staff member running the event was abusing their power, then feel free to let the rest of the staff know.

4. Please make your characters have some modicum of originality. You may use characters from anime/manga/video games only in appearance, and in no way replicate their powers nor their personal history. If we see Roarnar The Bleedpoint with a power called Life Drainer, we will END YOU.

5. Yes, you can have your powers stolen from you. However if you are a Candeoan you cannot have your innate genetic power stolen, only the Kenificus technology used to channel a power. If someone is to steal your Kenificus tech in a thread and staff judges that the theft was successful, then the thief now owns and can control the power they stole. If you want it back, steal it back.
